During Fadderuke, a week dedicated to welcoming new students to the university, GAME organized a vibrant game night to foster community engagement and introduce students to the world of esports. As the president of GAME and project manager for the event, my responsibilities encompassed the entire event planning process, from organization to execution, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
The game night featured a variety of tournaments in popular games such as CS:GO, League of Legends, Street Fighter, StepManiaX, and Pacman, with funding allocated for prizes and refreshments. While primarily aimed at academic esports students, the event welcomed participation from students across disciplines, fostering inclusivity and camaraderie.
Beyond the logistical aspects, the event provided a valuable opportunity to market our organization to students and showcase the welcoming and fun atmosphere we strive to cultivate. As a student organization, our ultimate goal is to provide new students with a sense of belonging and facilitate memorable social experiences during their university journey.
Participating in Fadderuke Game Night allowed us to not only showcase our passion for esports but also to contribute to creating a warm and welcoming environment for new students, reinforcing the core values of our organization.
