Erasumus Research Project
As part of an Erasmus+ collaboration between the University of Agder, Philipps-Universität Marburg (Germany), and Comenius University (Slovakia), I was involved in a research and development project focused on designing a game to support university students. The goal was to create a tool that could help students navigate financial and academic challenges in an engaging, game-based format.
My role covered research, design, and the practical creation of the game. The original concept was a budgeting simulator to teach students how to manage money, find part-time work, and handle student loans. As the project evolved, we expanded the scope to include scenarios around university life—such as registering for classes, using campus facilities, and seeking mental health support.
Beyond the game development itself, I had the opportunity to collaborate with teachers, researchers, and students from all three institutions. This included attending workshops in Germany and Slovakia, which deepened both the academic and cultural aspects of the experience.
The project culminated in January 2025 at the Games and Gaming in Education Conference in Kristiansand, where I co-led a workshop on the tools and methods used in the project, focusing on how to design impactful educational games for higher education contexts. This experience strengthened my skills in cross-institutional collaboration, game-based learning, and applied research.
