As the appointed project manager for the “UiA Invitational” tournament, I spearheaded a class project aimed at hosting a CS:GO tournament inviting high schools from across Norway. Our ambitious venture entailed coordinating weekly matches, from group stages to playoffs, streamed live from the university’s TV Studio with commentary and observers.
To streamline project operations, I organized teams based on expertise and requirements. The game crew handled administrative tasks, rules, server setup, and format, ensuring smooth gameplay. The outreach crew engaged sponsors, schools, and players, managing communication and documentation. The media crew oversaw graphic design, stream production, commentary, and overall presentation. Each team had designated leaders for efficient communication and task delegation.
Leading a diverse project such as this provided invaluable insights into project management and leadership. I honed my production skills, orchestrating seamless live streams and event presentations. Utilizing management tools like Trello and Gantt charts enhanced our organizational efficiency and scheduling accuracy. Moreover, overseeing a collaborative effort involving the entire class fostered teamwork and communication skills essential for future endeavors.
