AgderLAN 2026

AgderLAN is Sørlandet’s largest LAN event, bringing together hundreds of participants for several days of competitive gaming, tournaments, and community activities. In 2026 the event moved to Sam Eyde videregående skole, introducing a new venue and format aimed at expanding the event’s reach within the local community.

For this edition I served as Crew Leader for both the Game and Event sections, overseeing the overall gaming experience across tournaments, stage programming, and entertainment activities. The role required coordinating multiple teams and activity areas to ensure that competitions, stage segments, and community activities ran smoothly throughout the event.

A key aspect of the event was the continued involvement of students from the Academic Esports programme at the University of Agder. Students helped organise and run tournaments as part of their coursework, gaining practical experience within a large scale live esports environment. Supporting students in applying theoretical knowledge to real event operations remains one of the most valuable outcomes of these collaborations.

AgderLAN 2026 marked my third year contributing to the event. Large productions inevitably present challenges, but the event ultimately delivered a strong experience for participants and demonstrated continued potential for growth within the regional esports community.

Beyond the gaming itself, AgderLAN represents an opportunity to strengthen the local esports ecosystem whilst helping students develop practical skills through applied learning in real event environments.
