Project LAN

Project LAN was an initiative I conceptualised with the goal of establishing the largest LAN event in Grimstad, setting a benchmark for university LAN gatherings in the area. My objectives were clear: secure sponsorships, ensure free attendance for participants, maximise turnout, and create opportunities for meaningful networking between attendees and sponsors.
The event was made possible through partnerships with Gard AS, UiA Kraken, Pizzabakeren, Sabrura, Elefun, and Kiwi Bergemoen. Their support enabled us to offer free food and drinks throughout the event and provide prizes for the tournaments we hosted.
As Project Manager, I led a dedicated team through every stage of planning, creation, and execution. This included overseeing marketing campaigns, sponsor outreach, equipment procurement, floor planning, and tournament organisation.
The event, hosted at Bluebox, was highly successful, drawing 45 dedicated attendees and an additional 60–70 guests over its duration. A 24/7 live stream kept remote audiences connected, while the venue featured a diverse range of activities, including StepManiaX setups, F1 simulators, a PS5 gaming area, and fully equipped PC stations.
We prioritised creating an enjoyable, inclusive atmosphere and addressed challenges proactively to ensure a smooth experience for everyone involved. Project LAN not only achieved its primary goals but also established a foundation for future large-scale gaming events in the region.
